CARSThe Chelmsford Amateur Radio Society (CARS) meet at the Chelmsford Museum (Oaklands) in Moulsham Street. The society was formed during the 1930s and has always focused on sharing skills and knowledge. Chelmsford Amateur Radio Society (CARS) is a very radio club with over 120 active amateur enthusiasts holding licences.

The club is one of the most active amateur radio clubs in the UK, which is fitting as it is so close to the home of radio. The Society is affiliated to the Radio Society of Great Britain (RSGB). Members are very knowledgeable about radio and many specialise in specific wavelengths from HF through to microwave bands.

The society has a strong training team to help newcomers progress through the training and examination to obtain their own radio licence.
